چکیده

Abstract Adopting foliar antiperspirants reduces the negative effects of water stress on crop production. In this study chitosan (Ch) and potassium silicate (PS) maize sowing at two dates under irrigation levels (100% applied −Ir 00 70% 70 ) were investigated. Thus, during spring fall seasons 2020–2021, a field experiment similar experiments was conducted experimental farm Water Studies Research Complex (WSRC) station, National Center, Toshka—Abu Simbel City, Egypt, which allocated in main plot, then strip-plot design with five replicates used. It found that seeds season led to attaining higher yield than spring. Moreover, adoption Ir provides better use efficiency 100 , particularly date. addition, Ch concentrations spring, improvements while PS seasons, yield. concluded based present findings applying as applications 500 (mg l −1 had significant maintain yield, arid regions Toshka district other areas.

Yield and water use efficiency of early potato grown under different irrigation regimes

Potato grown for early or off-season production plays a crucial role in the economy of several areas in the Mediterranean countries. Irrigation is important for determining yield and earliness, thus a better investigation of plant response under various pedo-climatic conditions can help to improve resource use efficiency and farmer income. A two-year field research (2009-2010) was carried o...

Effect of Planting Date and Sowing Methods on Ear Yield, Water Use Efficiency and Some Physiological Characteristics of Sweet Corn

In order to investigate the effect of planting date and sowing method on ear yield, water use efficiency and some physiological characteristics of sweet corn, an experiment was carried out as a split plot based on a randomized complete block design with three replications in Yasouj, south-west of Iran. Planting date consisted of five levels (4 May, 19 May, 4 June, 19 June, 5 July) and considere...

Maize response to water, salinity and nitrogen levels: yield-water relation, water-use efficiency and water uptake reduction function

Water, salinity and nitrogen are the major factors affecting maize production in arid and semi-arid areas. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of different water, salinity and nitrogen levels on yield-water relationships, water use, water productivity (WP), water use efficiency (WUE) and water uptake reduction function by maize hybrid SC-704 in a semi-arid area and ...
